I was born Barbara Ann Moore on June 21, 1959, the firstborn of three children.  My brother, sister, and I worked hard while growing up on a dairy farm in southeastern Indiana.  I am glad that God allowed me to experience life on the farm because I learned many lessons that could never be found in a textbook.

The small church we attended was surrounded by cows and corn fields.  I remember well that Sunday morning when the Lord spoke to my heart about salvation.  At eight years old, I realized that, even though I knew many stories about Jesus, I had never personally asked Him to save me from my sins.  My Sunday school teacher took me aside and showed me from the Bible how to be saved.  That spring, I was baptized in a cold, muddy pond at the local youth camp.

After attending a small country school, I came to Ball State University to study elementary education.
I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a teacher.  My grandmother was a second grade teacher, and I loved to spend time with her!  I was in the EXEL program at Ball State, which allowed me to participate in several classrooms during my four years in college.  I graduated in May of '81 and spent time substitute teaching in the Muncie city school system before getting a job in a private school.  I eventually ended up moving from the classroom to a position as director of a Christian daycare here in Muncie.

Ten years ago, I felt the desire to get back into the classroom as a teacher.  I wanted to be part of the teaching staff here at Heritage Hall because I knew it was a good school.  My two children had attended HHCS since first grade, and I had experienced, as a parent, the love and spiritual concern the teachers had for my children.  We were also looking for a Christ-centered church with a solid foundation and a good youth program.  We decided to become members of Grace Baptist Church and have loved being a part of that ministry.

I have been married to Adrian Adams for almost 30 years.  Adrian has worked for 28 years as the chemistry laboratory manager at Ball State University.  We have two children, Dayna and AJ.  Dayna teaches third grade at Harvest Christian Academy in Guam.  AJ is a junior at Bob Jones University majoring in pastoral studies.  We are thankful for the teachers and administration at Heritage Hall and for the people at GBC.  They have had a major part in shaping our children's hearts to seek and to serve the Lord in their lives.
