I have wonderful, godly parents and two brothers. I am the middle child. We won't go into those details here ~ you know what they say about us middle children. Ha!
I was saved at the age of six in a tent revival. I know without a doubt that the Lord convicted my heart at that young age, and I knew that I needed Christ as my Savior. I am so thankful that He
I graduated from Tennessee Temple University in 1984. I have been in education most of my career, and I thoroughly enjoy it. It is wonderful to be able to minister to the students and their families. During my married life, I have lived and worked in Alabama, New Hampshire, Florida, and Indiana.
I met my dear wife, Angela, at TTU. I graduated in 1984, but we didn't start dating until 1987. (Okay, I'm a little slow! I liked her roommate while we were in college ~ you know how that goes!) We married on February 6, 1988. Angie is the preschool director at HHCS, and she also teaches one of the four-year-old classes. We have four children ~ Zach (senior), Corey (sophomore), Savannah (6th), and Skyler (4th). They, of course, all attend Heritage Hall.
We were working at Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, FL, when we received the call to relocate to Indiana. During this time, I was taking a little break from teaching. However, I really missed the students, and I wanted to teach again. Angie and I prayed for the Lord's will to be done. I did not send out any resumes. I told the Lord that He would have to let the teaching job come to me if He wanted me back in Christian education. I also asked Him to let me teach upper elementary.
One day, Angie was talking to her sister, Amy Bond. Amy and her husband, Rory, were ministering to the youth at Grace Baptist at the time. Angie mentioned our circumstances to Amy, and Amy said that she thought there was a fifth grade position open at Heritage Hall.
And you know the rest of the story. We moved here that following school year. I started teaching fifth grade, and Angie was Mrs. Briner's teacher's aide.
I love teaching at Heritage Hall. It is not a perfect school because we are all human; however, it is a school where teachers really do love each child. We want to see your child succeed academically, emotionally, and spiritually. Please pray for us daily. It is only by the grace of God that we can truly be a light to the world. Your prayers give us the strength and encouragement to continue doing what we do for the honor of God.
