Karen Winebarger

Mrs. Winebarger
Piano Lessons

My father's career in the Unites States Air Force afforded my family the opportunity to travel overseas and to have a part in helping several missionaries establish churches.  As a very young and inexperienced pianist, I soon learned to be willing to use my ability to help in these new ministries, partly because I really was the best they had, and also because my mother kept telling everyone that I was willing!  I am continually grateful for godly parents who sacrificed

to give me piano lessons and for the strong foundation and experience those early years gave me in learning to be an accompanist.

Satan loves to turn positive things into negatives and used. for a number of years my Christian activities to give me a false security regarding my own need for personal salvation.  Pride was definitely an issue for me.  However, God was merciful and continued to convict my heart until I admitted my need for a Savior and gave my heart to Him as a teenager.  It has been a great joy to have had continued opportunities to serve the Lord as a church musician and piano teacher during my adult life.

My husband and I have two daughters.  Jennifer and her husband, Dan, are involved in camp ministry at Amazing Grace Camp in Ottawa, Kansas.  Melissa feels called to serve the Lord in the field of medicine and is presently working on completing her Physician Assistant degree.

The Lord directed us here to Heritage Hall thirteen years ago after allowing us to serve in Nebraska for almost twenty years.  In addition to piano lessons, I also enjoy teaching the 9th/10th grade girls' Bible class.  Bob teaches junior and senior high Bible and science classes.  We count it a special blessing to be able to teach here and to encourage students to use their abilities for the Lord now and in the future.

Nancy Brady

Mrs. Brady
Teacher's Aide

I am Nancy Brady.  I was born in Modoc, Indiana, the eldest of two sisters and one brother.  I was raised on farms and even had my own little Jersey cow named Tiny.  I was involved in 4H on the state level for ten years.  I went to Ball State after graduating from McKinley High School (now Randolph Central).  I received my K-12 teaching degree with a specialty in home economics from Ball State and three years later,
completed a B.S. in guidance counseling.  After six

years of teaching, I married my husband when he came home from the Air Force.  We had our daughter, Marie, six years later.

I was raised in a church family and accepted the Lord as my Savior at a young age.  I have always tried hard to follow His teachings.  I taught Sunday school classes when I was in high school.  Throughout the years, I have been involved in a variety of areas in church.  I have enjoyed working with church boards and heading our church daycare in Winchester.

Kathy Herrman

Mrs. Herrman
Teacher's Aide

My name is Kathy Herrman.  I am married to a Heritage Hall graduate, Mike Herrman.  We have a first grader, Addie; a kindergartener, Sophie;
and a preschooler, Jacob.

I grew up in West Carrollton, OH. and, as a bus kid, I went to Bethel Baptist Church.  I was saved in the third grade.  I moved to Mooreland, IN when I got married.

I am currently a teacher's aide for Mrs. Briner's first grade class.  I also monitor noon recess for all the elementary grades.  I'm enjoying my time at Heritage Hall and look forward to many more years.

A few years ago, I saw in the Heritage Happenings a request for volunteer helpers.  My husband had had a heart attack but was doing well.  so we decided that I could try for the position since our grandsons were attending Heritage.  I have been Mrs. Vaughn's aide for five years.  During my second year at the school, my husband passed away.  I knew working here was God's leading.  God blessed me so as I help with the children each day.  God uses this place and your children to bless me daily.

As a child, I attended Heritage Hall through the 6th grade.  I graduated from Yorktown High School in 1988.  I received my Associate's Degree from Middle Tennessee State in Murfreesboro, TN, near Nashville.  Not only did I bring back a degree to Indiana but also a husband.  John and I have been married for sixteen years and have two wonderful daughters that also attend Heritage Hall.  Kalan is in 8th grade, and Kerrigan is
a 4th grader.

I received Christ as my Savior and was baptized in 1980.  My Christian education from Heritage Hall and the spiritual foundation I received as a child have been true blessings.  My parents have also had a HUGE impact on my life, and I thank God for them daily.  Because of these influential people, I am able to toke the knowledge and use it as a 'live by example' testimony for my own children.  I am thankful they are receiving the same foundation that has followed me and helped me continue to grow in Christ throughout my life.
(Did I mention that Debby Vaughn was my 4th grade teacher here
at Heritage Hall?)

I work alongside Tonya Swaim in the elementary office.  She has been such a sweet blessing to me as we have teamed together in 'job sharing' this position.  Wanda Mitchell is our beloved boss, who also holds a dear place in my heart.  I have a lot of respect for her and confidence in her, not only as the principal of the elementary but also as a friend.  The elementary teachers are a godsend!  They each have their own unique qualities, and I am blessed to be working with them.  They are all such giving people and are truly here for the glory of God.

I grew up in a Christian family with parents who took me to church.  We did not discuss whether we would go
or check to see if anyone had other plans.  We just went, and for that I am so thankful.

Even though my parents were Christians, I realized that their faith did not make me a Christian.  At the age of nine, I felt Christ speaking to my heart, and I asked Him to be my Savior.  The Christian life is a wonderful life to live.

I married my high school sweetheart 25 years ago.  His family went to the same small country church that mine did.  We have three children.  Our oldest son is living on his own, our middle son is living in heaven after an accident that took his life four years ago, and our daughter Olivia is a freshman at Heritage Hall.  Even though we are Christians, God has not promised that we will never have heartaches.  He has promised that He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).

We are members of True Light Baptist Church.  I work in junior church and play the flute in the orchestra.

Three years ago, my husband and I felt led to enroll Olivia in Heritage Hall.  The faculty and staff have been so kind and caring, and we know that she is getting a Christ-centered education.  As an answer to prayer, I was given the opportunity to work at Heritage Hall.  I job share with Lisa Lannom in the elementary office.  Miss Mitchell, Lisa, and the teachers are great to work with.  I have often said that this is the perfect job
for me.

God is good all the time!
