Mr. Whisler
Music Teacher

To say that God has richly blessed my life would be an understatement.  From day one, it has been easy to see God's hand working in my life and for His glory.  From my family, to my church, to my ministry at HHCS, God has been the sure foundation of my life, and I give Him all the praise.

I am the oldest child of two strong Christian parents ~ Mike and Connie Whisler.  We have attended Grace Baptist Church my entire life.  It was through the testimony of my parents and the ministry of GBC and Heritage Hall Christian School that I came to know the gospel and accept Jesus Christ as my personal Savior at the age of four.

Like so many young people who grow up in a thoroughly Christian environment, I later came to doubt my salvation.  Because I no longer remembered the day or circumstances of my salvation decision and because I was plagued by sinful patterns, fear easily entered my heart.  One of the great life lessons I have come to learn is that Christ is the object of my faith,  and my salvation rests in Him.  Feeding my sinful human nature will hinder my relationship with God but that relationship still exists.  "My hope is built on nothing less that Jesus' blood and righteousness!"

As I entered the final semester of my college experience, Dr. Ice approached me about teaching music at HHCS.  Having attended Heritage Hall from preschool through high school graduation, I was thrilled to have the chance to teach here.  It has been exciting to be a co-laborer with so many of the individuals who greatly influenced my life through school.

As much as my joy in teaching at Heritage Hall was expected, my transformation into a preschool-elementary music teacher was a complete surprise.  When Dr. Ice told me that I would be teaching young children, I was uneasy, to say the least!  But after nearly eight years, I cannot imagine working with anyone other than these children.

My hope is that I will influence these children for Christ in the way many teachers here at HHCS impacted me.  My desire is that the young people willtake the musical talents that God has given them and use them to glorify
Him to the best of their ability.  By God's grace, they will!

Meet our music teacher!

Three of our upper elementary piano students chose to participate in the Indiana State School Music Association's competition on Saturday, February 2, at Wilson Middle School.  The ISSMA gives 5th-12th grade students an opportunity to perform each year.  This year, Tiffany (5th gr), Anastasia 5th gr), and Rachel (6th gr) each earned a gold medal for doing an excellent job of playing their respective pieces.  Congratulations!
